It's Group Therapy Time!

Dear Ted and Amy,
My husband has suddenly decided he needs personalized license plates. Not WANTS because of his job. But NEEDS because he thinks it’ll make him look cool, unique and mysterious. I’m trying to gently explain that the second you slap a custom plate on your car, people instantly judge you. And not in the cool, “Wow, who’s that?” kind of way he’s imagining. It’s more like, “Ohhhh… they’re that person." So, help me out: Are personalized plates harmless fun? Or does everyone secretly judge you the second they see one?
