The world in which we live is awash in virtual connection, but seems to not leave much time or energy for actual face-to-face connection. People have hundreds of friends or followers online, but spend most of their time interacting with people by typing words into their phone. Of course, we all feel how unhealthy and harmful this can be. But many of us don’t see any other way to live. As a church, we’re pushing against the flow towards isolation with a plan to get everyone into a small group. But this is not a project for ‘church leadership’’; it is a project for the church. Today, we’ll take some time to study the foundations and patterns handed down to us from the first century church through Luke and Paul. And we’ll try to apply what we learn to the invitation Hope is giving to each Hoper to ‘group up’!
