  • The Source

The Source: Staying Connected to God

What does it mean to keep God at the center of your life even when you’re busy, tired, or distracted? In this episode of Grow with Vee, I reflected on lessons from a movie about friendship, faith, and success, alongside my own journey as a believer and my journey through the Bible.

I talked about how a relationship with God can become transactional, and why making space for prayer, Scripture, and honest conversation matters. I also shared a simple morning practice that I am trying, my thoughts on the Holy Spirit’s help in prayer, and a personal moment that reminded me to listen more closely.

It’s an open, personal conversation about faith, growth, and staying connected to your source. I will leave you with a question to carry into the weekend. “Who is your source, and how often do you make time to connect with God?”

  • Some things I have learnt

Thank you for joining me for another episode of Grow with Vee. As we step into October, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who’ve been tuning in. Your comments and feedback have been invaluable in this journey of growth and learning.

In this episode, I delve into some powerful themes from the Netflix series *My Dearest*, focusing on the detrimental effects of bitterness and jealousy. One character, I often referred to as the "mad king," succumbs to these emotions, leading to tragic consequences.

"If you open the door for the devil, he will enter."

This quote resonates deeply. The king’s inability to manage his feelings turns him against his own people and even his beloved son. It’s a stark reminder that unchecked emotions can cloud our judgment and damage our relationships.

I shared a relatable analogy, imagine if person A annoys person B. This can lead to bitterness in person B, which then spirals into jealousy and unkindness.

"Bitterness, anger, and jealousy can create a cycle that affects not just the person we are upset with but also those we love."

It’s essential to recognise that harbouring negative feelings doesn’t just isolate us; it can affect our interactions with friends and family as well.

So, how do we combat these feelings? I encourage you to adopt a mindset of love and forgiveness.

"Even today, I don’t know how many times I offended God, but He still loves us and forgives us."

Let’s strive to extend that same grace to others. It’s a journey, but each step counts.

As we wrap up this episode, I invite you to reflect on your own experiences with bitterness and jealousy. How have these emotions influenced your relationships? Let’s continue to grow together!

Thank you for being part of this journey. I love you all!

Acts 20:33-34 Paul told the people “I have never coveted anyone’s silver or gold or fine clothes. You know that these hands of mine have worked to supply my own needs and even the needs of those who were with me.”

Nobody can talk down on what you have control over.
