Do you believe in coincidence? I don’t. I believe that there is a lesson in everything that happens in our lives. Even the things that hurt us, the shame and guilt we feel, the traumas we’ve had to endure, we can learn from all of it. And that’s how I choose to live my life, but in order to learn from the pain, I had to face it and allow myself to feel it and heal from it. And I didn’t learn that from going to church. I didn’t learn that until I found spirituality outside of religion.
