D. A. Carson writes that what the Western Church needs most is to grow in the knowledge of God. And that doesn't just mean that we need a deeper intellectual understanding of God. A life of vibrant faith is fruit of an intimate, experiential knowledge of God. And this intimate, experiential knowledge of God is a gift from God that is produced in us by the Spirit of God, causing our hearts to understand and enjoy more fully the fruit of our redemption in Christ.
