On this week's episode of A3Life, we have Heather Love. Heather grew up in a small city in Pennsylvania. One that has been named the poorest in the nation. Between the ages of 3-14 she was molested by family and 2 others. At the age of 14, she left home to live with her grandparents, caring for her sick grandmother. A few short months into that, her grandpa got cancer and passed away. Heather went through a string of violent relationships, and got pregnant at 18.
Heather went on trial for attempted murder and between prison and Colombia I spent most of that time, avoiding abuse living in a women shelter with my baby. On her 25th birthday she went on a trip to Colombia and wound up in prison for 3 years. National Geographic did an episode of her on Locked Up Abroad (Season 10: Episode 8 - Colombian Double Cross).
When she comes home, she finds out she has stage 4 endometriosis and she'd never to have kids again. But like Heather says, all these things made her stronger. She gets her act together and buys her own house as a single Mom. She's now married with 3 kids of her own in a blended family with 8 total amazing children.
Five years ago she found a profession that didn’t ask her for her background, has never judged her for who she was, nor did they ask her for any proof if she is enough. She's found the courage to help others fight for their dreams as she continues to do so for herself.
We're so happy to have Heather Love on this week to give women hope that when there's a will, there's a way. If your past or maybe your present isn't ideal, if you can find the courage to fight, anything can happen!
