Dr Ahluwalia will reflect on the Indian growth experience to distil his key lessons for growth and development. Montek Singh Ahluwalia is the former Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission of the Republic of India. Nicholas Stern is IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government, chair of the Grantham Research Institute and chair of the Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy. Francesco Caselli is Norman Sosnow Professor of Economics at LSE. The International Growth Centre (@The_IGC ) aims to promote sustainable growth in developing countries by providing demand-led policy advice based on frontier research. Based at LSE and in partnership with Oxford University, the IGC is initiated and funded by DFID. This public lecture is part of Growth Week 2014 which takes place at LSE from 23-25 September organised by the International Growth Centre.
