To Dazai, drowning is as old of a concept as it gets. In fact, the ridiculous amount of times he’s attempted with this particular method had, for better or for worse, prolonged his breath-holding duration significantly. The instances Chuuya would fish him out himself had been few, though struck the most, as each time Dazai would ask why he didn’t just let him die in piece, his answer would be the same:

“As long as I’m around, you’re not getting what you want that fucking easily. Just accept the fact that I’ll save your sorry ass every time…

…even though you'd never do the same for me.”

Oh, how Dazai currently wishes that were true...
