What type of person do we want our child to grow up to be? This is a story about the most basic of choices that can make all the difference to a person’s happiness and personal development: the choice to be kind, even to those who are not kind to us.
Inspiration behind the story:
I was doing some philosophical writing one day and stopped when I was finished and thought to myself: “What an important idea that is. But almost no one is ever going to read this and be inspired by it. What can I do to give it some concrete effect?” Then it occurred to me I could take my ideas and express them through a children’s story. So, I immediately sat down and wrote “Grumps & Sweeties”, a story that gets across the incredible importance of kindness both to the individual and to those whose lives they touch.
