Beauty isn't just something we admire, it's something God uses to draw us to Himself. As the Creator, God made us in His image to create, cultivate, and reflect His goodness in the world. As we behold Jesus, the source of all beauty, He transforms us to become more like Him and invites us to join His redemptive work wherever we are.

When life feels heavy and God seems distant, it can be hard to know what to do. In Psalm 13, we see David bring his pain honestly before the Lord, trusting that God welcomes our questions and hears our cries. Even in seasons of waiting, we can hold on to His faithful love, knowing He is at work and worthy of our trust.

This week is a loving wake-up call: prayerlessness may be one of the great reasons the Church lacks power in a spiritual war. Jesus prayed, the early Church prayed, and some things only move through prayer, not strategy, talent, branding, or religious activity. The invitation is simple and weighty: repent of self-sufficiency, return to the secret place, and ask again, “Lord, teach us to pray.”

This week asks a simple but piercing question: what is keeping you stuck? Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, which means discipleship has to touch our wounds, our connection with God, our thought life, and even our bodies. The goal is not becoming a better version of ourselves, but removing the barriers that keep us from receiving more of Jesus and becoming healthy disciples God can use in a hurting world.

We kicked off our new series, Worth Saying, by tackling a topic that's often misunderstood: Christian Nationalism. Rather than asking what side we should be on, we looked at what it means to faithfully follow Jesus in the place He's called us. As citizens of God's Kingdom, we're invited to love our neighbors, seek the good of our communities, engage with truth and grace, and remember that our ultimate allegiance belongs to King Jesus. Our witness matters, and every day is an opportunity to reflect His love right where He's placed us.

Philippians ends where it began: defiant joy grows through gospel partnership. Paul has learned the secret of contentment because Christ is his center in plenty and in need, but he still rejoices deeply when the Philippians share in his trouble and strengthen the work of the gospel. The call for Good Shepherd is to go big, go locally, go globally, and trust that God will supply every need according to His riches as we partner, plant, give, serve, and contend for Northern Colorado.

Philippians 4:2-9 gives a path into peace that is more than a quiet life. Paul calls the church to fight for unity in the Lord, practice rejoicing, bring anxiety to God through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, and retrain the mind toward what is true and praiseworthy. Peace comes as we keep choosing trust, putting faith into practice, and helping others walk in what we have learned.

Philippians 3:12–4:1 calls us to press on because Christ has already taken hold of us. Maturity is not pretending we have arrived, but refusing to let yesterday define tomorrow while straining toward the prize: Jesus Himself. Because our citizenship is in heaven, we stand firm now, live as an example for others, and long for the day when Christ makes all things new.

This week in Philippians 3:1–11, we see that legalism and self-righteousness can quietly steal our joy by shifting our confidence from Christ to ourselves. Paul reminds us that our righteousness is not something we earn but something we receive through Jesus. As we surrender our lives to Him, we discover the freedom, joy, and new life that come from knowing Christ above all else.

In Philippians 2:19–30, we see that following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey. Through Timothy and Epaphroditus, Paul highlights the power of gospel friendships, people who care deeply, serve sacrificially, and stand alongside one another for the sake of Christ. God often grows and strengthens us through the faithful people He places around us.
