Author Henry Kane created the character of private detective Peter Chambers in his 1947 novel, A Halo for Nobody. The book was the first in a series of novels, and the character of Peter Chambers was eventually portrayed in a radio detective series. Chambers, who was based in New York City, usually coordinated his work with that of the police and his best friend, police Lieutenant Louis Parker.
