How can only a few people truly help their community when that community has been hit by the visible and invisible wounds of war?

This week we have the privilege of speaking with Nicole Motsek, the Executive Director of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Warrior Foundation.  Nicole takes us behind the curtain of a non-profit organization that has successfully assisted EOD warriors in getting their lives back on track after multiple amputations, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and many more challenges.

Specifically, we'll be talking about:

• The origin and history of the EOD Warrior Foundation, including its two predecessor organizations.
• The methods in which the Foundation supports the wounded coming back from combat theaters, despite the severe scope of the wounds.
• How her own losses inspired her to get involved with the Foundation.
• How the Foundation, with only 6 full time staff members, has structured strategic alliances and community development to serve as force multipliers to allow the Foundation to provide far more support than what 6 people alone could provide.
• The activities that the Foundation hosts to create greater bonds inside the community that allow families to heal and move into full lives in spite of the wounds.
• The challenges and solutions in raising awareness and funding for the Foundation, and how Nicole builds a connection with those organizations that can support the Foundation.
• The steps that the Foundation has taken to prove that it is operating in a fully transparent, accountable, and effective manner.
• How Nicole and her team are able to keep putting forth effort despite all the challenges and traumatic stories.
