Another absurd day documenting security reactions at Egypt's temples. Started with the regular armed escort (apparently someone reported the Star Magic group for "healing"), but Abu Simbel guards took it to another level. First they said no speaking, then when I complied, they freaked out because I closed my eyes. Every attempt to film turned into a new rule - no strange languages, no standing still, no advertising... just endless conflicting restrictions from increasingly agitated guards.

Think this was meant to be a normal tourist spot with some impressive ancient statues. Instead, I got a front-row seat to the bizarre dance between temple authorities and spiritual tourism. Between the assault rifles, secret police, and guards debating whether I can film in a major tourist site - just another weird day accidentally documenting Egypt's temple control system.

Even market shopping came with a full police escort - seems that Star Magic group's reputation preceded them after someone reported them for "healing" at other sites. Between the armed convoy through the desert and the constant supervision inside Abu Simbel, it's becoming clear just how seriously Egypt takes control of these ancient spaces.
