In 2020 The National Science and Technology Forum (NSTF) presented an online award event. The NSTF requests the lists of top performers in physical science and mathematics (in the National Senior Certificate exams) from all the provincial education departments. At least two students from each province are selected, based on their performance (of 90% and above for the average of both subjects), as well as their chosen field of study.
