"What Do You Need?"

Mark 2:1-12

What is your GREATEST NEED ?

- Health?

- Wealth?

- Companionship?

- Achievement?

Jesus knows the CHARACTERS.
- Paralytic is frustrated

- Friends are disappointed

- Crowd is curious

- Religious leaders are angry

Jesus makes the CLAIM

Our greatest need is FORGIVENESS.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

The Claim: 
The only one with the AUTHORITY to forgive sins is God, and I AM GOD!

Jesus is the CURE.

He passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. (John 9:1-3)

Why did Jesus provide physical healing?

To demonstrate He had the AUTHORITY to heal SPIRITUALLY.

They celebrated the TEMPORARY but didn’t even catch on to the ETERNAL.

Our ultimate HEALING is not based on anything WE can do, but what JESUS DID!

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

It’s ALL about JESUS.
