This mix is an ode to the infinite flux of life and the evolution of self. As individuals, we are in a constant state of becoming, shedding layers of who we were to make space for who we are yet to be. I wanted to capture this evolution through both sound and words.
The poems use the metaphor of shedding skin — a raw symbol of growth, release and rebirth. Musically, the set mirrors this process: it begins with nostalgic melodies and fragmented rhythms that evoke the comfort of the familiar and the initial resistance to letting go. Gradually it dissolves into more experimental, dissonant textures as things begin to fall apart. It’s the sound of confronting fear, discomfort, and the unknown, moments which go hand in hand with growth. But within that tension lies the invitation to surrender — and with surrender, a sense of peace begins to emerge. A glitch-filled climax is followed by a release into gentler, more contemplative sounds, which signal a space of acceptance. Near the end, a Lacrimosa is woven in: a symbolic funeral for the version of yourself left behind.
The mix concludes with a sense of clarity: the realization that freedom lies in embracing impermanence. Letting go, accepting the ongoing process of transformation, and welcoming the unknown is what ultimately allows us to evolve — and to feel truly free.
