Copyright is the base from which creators gain the power to prove ownership in the event that their work is stolen. The way to exercise that power and right lives in the legal system and hence, has resulted in cases on intellectual property winding up in court. Interestingly enough, the Supreme Court hasn’t seen many cases on IP until recently. All of 3 major cases made it to the Supreme Court in the last couple years, including a couple heavy-hitters like Google.
For this episode of GuildCast the Advocacy Liaison for the Guild talks about each of the 3 cases that got all the way up to the top in Rebecca Talks...IP Court Cases. Listen as she breaks down each case and shares what all designers, artists and owners of intellectual property can learn from these situations.
GuildCast is a weekly podcast created + curated for graphic artists and creatives based on the 3 pillars of the Graphic Artists Guild: Advocacy, Community, Business Resources.
