Oh my, what is this? Emily has created a new holiday? Well, let's listen in and learn more about it on today's Emily Explains It All. You might have already guessed, but it involves the delicious Cajun culinary staple known as gumbo. And friendship. There's some friendship in there too. 

CJ has decided to switch up his Halloween routine this year by watching different movies than he usually does. But what genre of horror film is he delving into? The late-90s/early-2000s slasher revival film! Films like I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream, and others from around that era that aren't specifically slashers (like Robert Rodriguez's The Faculty). Sounds like it's gonna be one heck of a good time.

And on today's Parent Pickup, Matt discusses many life lessons we all wish we had been warned about before leaving high school. This isn't specifically about stuff we wish we learned in school, like baking or learning how to file taxes, but more so about the realities everyone faces after leaving the safety net that is schooling in America. It's a tough topic we can all relate to, and maybe it will be a good idea to tell future generations of teens what they can realistically expect.
