This is a touchy subject folks! The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms. This protection is seen as fundamental to the security of a free state, and the courts have consistently upheld the legality of gun ownership and the rights of individuals to possess firearms for lawful purposes. Gun rights advocates argue that the amendment guarantees an individual’s right to possess firearms for self-defense, hunting, and other lawful activities, while gun control advocates argue that the amendment does not guarantee an individual’s right to possess firearms and that regulation of gun ownership is necessary to protect public safety.
