Starlight takes many years to reach us, so what we see now, may no longer exist.

The same applies to hip vernacular, so if I know "dig my drip" means "check out the outfit I'm wearing" its been superceded by many other phrases, and is no longer in use.

But drip digging is what we'll be doing tonight in Gunn's Grotto.

I'll be wearing White Levis a Tweed Coat and Go-Go Boots.
