On a sunny day we would often go to the beach in the town we grew up in.

If we ever complained about the three mile walk to get there, Mum would tell us "it's what your legs are for..."

At least after picking up discarded bottles as the sun went down, and taking them back to the shops to collect the deposits, we had our bus fare home...
