It has been revealed that tens of thousands of federal public servants will be let go under a Coalition plan to uphold the billion-dollar medicare pledge.

Former Queensland Premier, Campbell Newman told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "The spending on the public sector... has reached an all time high, and we actually are suffering."

The former premier also weighed in on rumours that Victoria Park is the preferred site for the Olympic stadium saying, "I'd be deeply disappointed."
