Summary:

On the night of Frank's funeral, Rhett proposes to Scarlett. Scarlett and Rhett marry barely a year after Frank's death, scandalizing Atlanta. Rhett takes Scarlett on an extravagant honeymoon in New Orleans. Melanie castigates her sewing circle for gossiping about the Butlers in her home. Scarlett and Rhett build a large Gothic mansion in Atlanta. Scarlett hosts an elaborate reception to which she invites the Yankee governor, General Bullock, thereby destroying her reputation among the Old Guard.
