Today we're digging into the made-for-PBS film 'Surviving Desire,' and the finale of the Long Island Trilogy (Long Island is a terminal moraine), 'Simple Men.' We also discuss Hirokazu Kore-eda's latest film--and his first Japanese-language film since 2018--'Monster.' As a bonus, Jason imagines a world where James Van Der Beek was nominated for an Oscar for his star turn in 'Varsity Blues.'
