Modern mythology has tales of individuals who are half-machine, half human. These individuals are almost always depicted as being stronger, faster and more agile than humans. Yet, there is something happening here, something that we don't understand. We believe that machines are better than we humans are. We believe our wild ancestors were brutes, barely able to count on our fingers. Both of these beliefs are wrong. In fact, not only are our beliefs wrong, they are leading us astray .
