The Carolina Hurricanes have started to fall-off defensively. Some key injuries throughout their lineup have caused a defensive breakdown. 

The Winnipeg Jets are crashing, after being President's Trophy winners last season the Jets are currently dead-last in the NHL. Will a lottery pick save them, can they spend with the rest of the NHL, and will they solidify their roster to make a run this year? 

Logan Stanley and John Beecher both got handed one-game suspensions for sucker punches. 

The standings are still very close with the majority of teams still in contention for the playoffs. The Pacific Division might be the weakest division in the NHL right now with every team having a negative goal differential.
