Tania is back from hiatus and rarin' to go. Her community is up in arms because some schools in the district are no longer celebrating Halloween during the school day. Tania breaks down an article from the Chicago Tribune that covers the controversy exposing the bias, charged language, successes and failures of leadership in the article while sharing   ways to effectively lead communities and organizations through change, what inclusion means and doesn't mean, why assimilation is a 4 letter word and what really matters for our kids. This episode is about a local issue that could be going on in anyone's community. It's not just about Halloween it's about the future of equity and inclusion and resistance to change.  

"When we are trying to make systemic changes, when we are changing policy, when we are making an effort toward being more equitable or inclusive you have to cater to the smaller quotient."
