Halo Infinite Delayed

Listen Later

With the next generation of consoles mere months away, PlayStation and Xbox both look for any edge to best each other this holiday season. On paper, Xbox is already clearly ahead in sheer graphical power. The Xbox Series X is a serious machine that would give most modern gaming pcs a run for their money. PlayStation on the other hand, might not have equal graphical power, but has shown some very impressive proprietary solid state hard drive tech. But none of this matters if we have nothing to play at launch. It seems PlayStation is placing it’s bets on a spinoff game to it’s well received superhero exclusive, with the new entry titled Spider-Man Miles Morales. Xbox was poised to offer real competition with its own AAA game in the form of Halo Infinite. However, after a less than spectacular debut during it’s reveal and the ongoing work issues steaming from the global pandemic, 343 Industries has decided to push the game out of the fall and to an indefinite date. What does this mean for Xbox’s holiday hopes? Can the most powerful console thrive without it’s most recognizable mascot? Should these consoles launch considering the current economy? All that and more on today’s episode of OP: Games.
