The book of Esther chapter 4 and verse 16 says these words, “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so, I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”

Now the story of Esther is about a young girl, who went into the king in an attempt to halt the progress of evil at the potential cost of her own life. There are times in history, when those who put their own comfort and safety in front of their petitions, cannot simply make any difference. Remember that Jesus told us, “that whoever seeks to save his life will lose it.”

In our time, self-focus must die and we must live for the benefit of others. The future of so many now depends on it.
