In 2010, a shocking case unfolded involving Hamdiya and her lover, Hamada, who plotted the murder of her husband, Ali. Hamdiya had been forced into an arranged marriage, which left her trapped and seeking affection elsewhere. To maintain secret meetings with Hamada, she began drugging Ali daily with sedatives, slowly weakening his ability to resist.

In response, the couple planned a calculated attack: during one of Ali’s medicated slumbers, they strangled him to death. To cover their crime, they staged a robbery, attempting to make it appear as though thieves had ransacked the home. However, investigators grew suspicious, noting the absence of forced entry and discovering some of the stolen jewelry at a local gold shop.
Under pressure, Hamdiya and Hamada turned on each other and confessed to the premeditated murder. The court ultimately sentenced both to death, marking the case as a chilling example of betrayal, manipulation, and cold-blooded planning within a marriage.
