Originally from Ararat, Hamish Hamilton is the owner of King Kong Tattoo Co in Main Rd Ballarat. Hamish began tattooing in 2012 in his home town, he opened his own shop in Ararat with the intention of bringing back the traditional style of tattoos. A change in life and a need to grow his business bigger prompted Hamish to make the move to Ballarat 3 years ago. Soon after he arrived Hamish opened a shop with his friend Riley Day, but after a short time Riley left Ballarat for Geelong, Hamish kept the shop in Ballarat and honed his style to incorporate his love of Americana and traditional, old school tattoos with fellow tattooists, Jackson Flower and Elliott Hill and cosmetic tattooist Zoe Nankivell.  The move to Ballarat has been a successful one, allowing Hamish to meet and collaborate with local businesses in a supportive community. His business model is a simple one, doing the work he loves when he wants to, whilst maintaining balance and time for his partner and daughter.
