The only spotlight on the loss is that the Bears’ offense looked alive. Caleb Williams threw his first two touchdowns (1 yard to Rome Odzune and 6 yards to Cole Kmet). Williams and the offense committed three turnovers and gave up four sacks.

Bears offense remained stale in week two, managing only one touchdown coming off Khalil Herbert’s two-yard rush. Caleb Willaims played much better in his second NFL start but received no help from his offense line. The Texans defense managed 36 pressures on Williams on his 42 passing attempts. The 1st overall pick has failed to throw his first touchdown in consecutive games. Bears’ defense kept them within striking distance, but their offense could not capitalize on the opportunity.

With lots of anticipation for the debut of first-overall pick Caleb Williams, Bears offense never came alive, netting 148 total yards on offense. Williams never reached the endzone in his debut, only throwing for 64 total yards in the game.
Defense and special teams lead the scoring production, including a Daniel Hardy blocked punt, which led to a Jonathan Owens special teams touchdown to begin the scoring. Tyrique Stevenson’s pick-six was ultimately the game-sealing play that put the Bears in front midway through the fourth quarter for the victory.
