HAPPILY EVER AFTER BEYOND DIVORCE & MOTHERHOOD

Happily ever after begins today with how it is not necessary to live in the same city, nor state or even country to help reclaim independence and create a future filled with success, peace and happiness.

Today’s guest, Alice McDonald is an International Separation & Divorce Coach helping women from around the world including Australia, the USA, China, Indonesia, Canada and South Africa. She uses her experiences to empower women to move beyond divorce and motherhood with their own version of success & happiness. She works with separated or divorced women with older teens or adult children, who are ready to find themselves again, confidently reclaim their independence & create a future filled with success, peace & happiness.

Alice’s starting over journey was a “double whammy experience.”  Her marriage of 23 years came to an end at a time when her children were in their late teens, in which an unplanned future began to look like, having no idea what it would look like. Her duties changed and she went from married mum to single empty nester.

After spending time crying on the floor of the shower, trying to keep her sh*t together for her kids, Alice has come out of the other side of her divorce, happier than ever and enjoying creating her life by design. She had a clean slate and a new story to write.

Alice’s brokenness wasn’t going to be her story. She made it clear and knew she needed to get through it.

“What do I want my life to look like going forward? And how do I create that?” “Just getting through the day is really freakin hard sometimes. And you want to have those pockets of joy.” Alice knew at some point she would get through it because “People get through it.”

She wanted to be in the best position possible, rather than digging herself a deeper hole. First she sorted out the really crucial things in her life and knew it was incredibly important to build a team of people around her. Alice had already been working with a psychologist at the time and then needed to have a good physician to look after her health.

Setting a timeline for the next year or so, as she knew there would be times where she wouldn’t be able to keep her momentum for herself. She hired a coach and met with her once a month, giving her the things she wanted her to help her keep on track with. That was one of the best decisions she ever made. This kept her on track.

Alice wanted her turning point to be her success story. So she kept creating and looking for things that made her happy, really tapping into who she was as a person.

“Do something that brings you JOY!”

Dancing first thing in the morning, is what Alice does, that brings her JOY!  Another thing that brings her joy is flowers.

“I frickin love flowers.”

She began doing more and more things that make her feel happy and make her everyday happy. Because this is her life.

She lives in sunny Perth, Western Australia and has two older children - one adult son at university, a daughter just about to finish highschool and a furchild; a five year old rescue dog, Abbey.
