Rather than be slings and arrows to life's ups and downs, we need to have an internal mechanism of regulating our state of Being. When we depend ONLY on outside events to make us happy or unhappy, we become "at the effect of" rather than being the CAUSE of the outcome of our lives. Wisdom masters know that inner peace can be achieved through meditation and other ways of slowing down the mind's chatter and focusing our attention on our inner world. When we are preoccupied with licking our emotional wounds from childhood, it is difficult to self sooth and self regulate enough to calm down. THIS is where we have to become wise and invest in peace, wisdom, and a satisfying life over just a HAPPY life consisting of good and bad things happening to us. Yes, it IS possible to create a rich inner world of peace, balance, and unconditional self love. Remembering always, Unconditional Love is the most powerful healing force on the planet.
