In this episode, Mitra shares a theory about happiness with her class. She suggests that many of us have PTSD from times that we “lost” happiness, which makes us associate our happiness with bad things happening. Thus, when we experience happiness now, we may be thinking to ourselves, “this is too good to be true,” or, “when is the other shoe gonna drop?” That fear makes us manifest our own unhappiness, and ultimately continue this cycle of negative association. Take a listen to this live recording to go more deeply into Mitra’s theory.
