National Huddie Ledbetter Day is founded by Activist Dr. Greshun De Bouse.  The Day is celebrated annually August 1 as a musical history awareness holiday to honor the life, legacy, and musical pioneership of King of the 12-String, Huddie "Lead Belly" Ledbetter, and to educate all on Lead Belly impetus for past, present, and future music.
