Action Hero: "Tequila" Yuen
Grab yourself a baby and a shotgun and get ready to cook some fools as THE LAST ACTION HEROES PODCAST takes a bullet dodging leap back through time to the seedy underworld of 90’s Hong Kong for a bullet ballet of epic proportions.
In this explosive fourth episode of Season 2 we’re in for some X rated action…no, not that kind…though we do have some sexy sax and synth! Give this guy a gun he thinks he’s superman. Give him two and he thinks he’s God! That’s right we are giving TEQUILA YUEN the TLAH teardown with John Woo’s explosive, western breakthrough bonanza HARD BOILED (1992).
Following a disastrous raid on a local teahouse(!?!) in which his partner was gunned down – along with most of the clientele – the job becomes personal for Inspector Tequila. As gun running mobsters fight a territorial war to exert a stranglehold over the city, our hero must now turn to his only lead if he hopes to crack the case and get his revenge; an undercover cop by the name of……………Alan. But Al has been working as a double agent for so long the lines of justice and criminality are becoming blurred. His loyalty to Johnny Wong and his thugs, and to the law will make him either a dangerous enemy or a formidable ally…just hope you don’t get a paper crane through the mail! Luckily for Tequila, gunfights are just another day on the job…and he can more than handle himself.
Action movies do not come bigger than this… Seriously can this movie even spell collateral damage?! But where will Inspector Tequila Yuen place in our action hero leader board?
