I was hit by a car
when I was three years old
and flung high in the air
at least that's what I was told
My sister threw a ball
and I was chasing it
right out into the street
and that's where I was hit
I greeted the pavement
with just my head in a
compound, compressed
skull fracture.........
they thought I was dead
At three I didn't know
it was a dangerous
place to go......
It was my first hard lesson
in so many I've learned
if you take risk you'll be burned
Much later on I
fell in love with
the girl next door
who was so beautiful,
She was my first love
my only love but true
love can be cruel.....l
because there came
a day we had to move away
and I left her behind
and memories of her
come back to haunt me still
in the corners of my mind
Because I didn't know
it was a dangerous place to go
Love requires a risk
if you wanna get kissed
by someone you love so
it was just another hard lesson
that I had to learn
if you take a chance
you just might find romance
or you just might get burned
And now as I get older
I'm a lot less bolder
than I used to be
cause I'm not yet ready
to meet my maker in eternity
I'm gonna savor my life
and every minute I spend
cause taking risk is a
dangerous thing to do
on that i can depend
it takes to long to mend.
