The plots draws you in, Wexford at his best good old fashioned police work with the right results
Brain teaser
As usual an excellent story you think you know the outcome but the ending is always a surprise. I would encourage all lovers of crime stories to read this book
Classic Rendall well narrated
excellent plot with several sub plots all wonderfully intertwined and perfectly resolved. The narration is excellent with good use of a range of voices and accents.
Good but not her best...
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. It's worth a listen. But I was disappointed that it dealt with such a serious subject like domestic violence in such a predictable, slightly old-fashioned way. The victims were all women, the aggressors all male. Would have made it more interesting to have had just one case where the genders were reversed...
What about Nigel Anthonys performance did you like?
Well-paced.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
In a similar ilk to other Wexford novels.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed Regs dilemma over his relationship with his two daughters and him coming to terms with finding one much harder to get on with than the other
