We put ourselves through so much in trying to control the outcome of what other people think of us. We’ve been trained, conditioned to believe that if we can just “keep the peace,” then everyone around us will be happy and life will be easier. This doesn’t work as well as we think it does. As outlined in the book, “Break The Good Myth,” we are always giving up a part of ourselves in order to satisfy society’s script for how women should behave. With harmony, we see to avoid being judged, ridiculed, hurt, or rejected.
Reclaim your agency and learn new strategies to break the cycle of endless attempts to please everyone around you.
