Viennese born Harald Sitta who lives in Johannesburg, has been bringing opera to Joburg, through his company, SITTOPERA™- which facilitates opera and classic music events- at the heritage Rand Club in Johannesburg. Sitta is a committed patron of the arts. An attorney by profession, he graduated Dr iuris from University of Vienna ans now does opera events as a passion project. During 2021, lockdown SITTOPERA™, presented seven opera soirees at The Rand Club. A fabulous programme has been announced for SITTOPERA™ Season 2022. The 2022 season will run from February to December 2022- with a June/July winter break. Sitta says if you book for five events or more in advance, you will receive a 15% discount on your tickets

Friday August 5 at 6.30pm: Always Trouble– featuring Phiwe Makaula (tenor) and Thando Zwane, (bassbariton), in the Ballroom or Milner Lounge, in the Rand Club  

Friday October 14 at 6:30pm and Sunday October 16 at 3pm, Friday October 21 at 6.30pm and Sunday October 23 at 3pm: Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fidelio in the Ballroom at the Rand Club

Friday November 4 at 6:30pm “Fine Talents and rising Stars” Lindsay Thomson, Mezzo-Soprano Ballroom or Milner lounge of the Rand Club

Friday, November 25 at 6.30pm and Friday December 2, at 6.30pm: Richard Wagner’s Die Walkuere – shortened version Ballroom at the Rand Club
