Like so many millions of people around the country and the world, I was shocked, saddened, frightened, touched, angered and rocked by the senseless tragedy in Orlando. As a proud member of the LGBT community, I never want to see a loss of life caused by prejudice, discrimination, or bigotry. It's clear that HATE is the biggest problem we face in America. It's bigger than gun reform. It's more deep rooted than the fear of radical terrorism. HATE is the most dangerous weapon in the country, and we don't have a plan of action to stop it. For all the progress we've made in recognizing gay people as equal humans who deserve the right to marry, we still have a long way to go. It takes each and every one of us to join the fight.
