I grew up with a razor sharp tongue, sarcastic to the core. You could not stick with me when it came to cutdowns or defending yourself. If social media would have been around when I was in Middle school or high school… it would have been magic and tragic… but not anymore… so what changed?

 

So where it todays podcast coming from? I made 2 posts this last week on the Roe vs. Wade decision and the world blew up at me. LOL what is truly funny, and I mean it when I say this - I was laughing because most of the haters were my own cousins and nephews and nieces etc… 

But I am used to this. I honestly don’t try to post things that are flagrant… because I really want to always keep an open door to the thousands of my followers on Social media about Jesus… but anyway. It has happened time and time again and what amazes me most is that people will message me privately and ask “why don’t you hit back? I know you can put them in their place - why do you just sit silently and let them rail on you”.

Honestly…. Its love.

Prov. 18:2 Fools find no pleasure in understandingbut delight in airing their own opinions.

 

2 Cor. 11:19 For you, being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly.

What do you do when people attack you. Snide, harsh remarks, untrue general statements or even blatant lies stated as facts about you as a whole. 

 

Stop and ask yourself why? 

People attack out of anger stemming from wounds. What has happened to them that they feel the need to use a platform pretending to stand up for that issue only to use it as a way to attack you. You know the kind right? (stupid example)

I love meat, and you gotta kill cows to eat meat.

And then the comments role in…

Did you know that 6 people die a year in farming accidents, and over 40 people die a year in meat plants and more then 100 people lose a finger in butcher shops a year. How can you be so cold hearted… you just want to fill your stomach and your wants over Gods given creatures of this world. You call yourself a Christian.

AND THEN SOMEONE CHIMES IN: Well he lifts weights and they think they need red meat for proper protein… we all know weightlifters are not the brightest in the world….

 

So I stop and ask myself… how hurt must you feel to attack someone else. How much have you been disappointed, poisoned or just unhappy with life.

 

2 Cor. 11:19 For you, being so wise, tolerate the foolish gladly.

 

This is Paul being very facetious even sarcastic about how people who attack others also defend other fools who attack them.

 

Rather Scripture is clear that we are to bless those who curse us. Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you

Rom. 12:14 bless those who persecute you

 

Just remember love always wins… you don’t have to defend yourself. Jesus didn’t, He was silent among his accusers. Just love.
