Fierce Females of History

Hatshepsut: Pharaoh King

Listen Later

Did you know Erin has been to Egypt?

Well, she has and she’s here to tell you all about it, but one part in particular.

Hatshepsut was one of few female Pharaoh Kings and she’s known for doing things in her own way. This was one woman who would not be relegated to the sidelines, and that was a very good thing for ancient Egypt.

In this episode you’ll hear about why Hatshepsut changed her name, the strange clue that led to her identification thousands of years later, and (in great detail) just how the Egyptians constructed those major obelisks.

It’s got badass pharaohs, trips to mystical lands and some serious feats of engineering. You know you’ve got to listen - it’s only Phar(oah).
