On the morning of February 15, 1974, the last day of Mary Schlais's life, she said goodbye to her college roommate, put on the heavy green jacket her brother had given her the Christmas before, hung a sign around her neck with the words MADISON in big bold lettering, and left for a big art show in Chicago. She had planned to travel by hitchhiking and had seen most of the United States and Europe that way. 

She didn't know she would catch this sinister stranger's eye. She didn't know that February 15th would be the day she died and that her spirit would remain in a state of unrest.
