We tend to think of the Puritans as rigid and legalistic. Practical theologian Joanne Jung, who has researched Puritan sources extensively, describes an aspect of Puritan practice that we need to reclaim for our day. It involves conversation and life sharing in small group contexts. This interview challenges us to move beyond the individualism that has a grip on Western society and to live out the kind of community the Bible calls forth. Dr. Jung is associate professor of Biblical and theological studies at Biola University.
