For us to have faith in God, we must first familiarize ourselves with His word and be in constant communication with Him. Otherwise, we won't know Him enough to trust Him. Not trusting in God will result in us relying in ourselves, which will lead to some mistakes. Knowing God's word puts us in a position to lean on Him when times inevitably get tough.
