Let’s get started!
Build a Gravity Car
When I was kid, my summers included building gravity cars. It was a rite passage and the competition with outer kids to build the fastest and best-looking race car kept us busy for weeks. If you don’t think you can design one on your own, here are a few projects to give you some ideas:
* Official Soap Box Derby® Plans (http://www.soapboxderby.org/education-program/building-a-car.aspx)
* Easy Soap Box Car Build (http://www.instructables.com/id/Soap-Box-Derby-Car-Overview/)
* Various Soap Box Cars (https://diy.org/skills/transportengineer/challenges/247/build-a-soap-box-car)
STEM or STEAM Categories
Kids engage in all the STEAM categories when building a soap box derby car. You can even throw in a little history lesson to teach them why its called a soap box derby are.
