Paul with no children of his own spiritually adopted Timothy, whose father had died when he was very young. He was groomed by Paul for ministry and is an example of what Yahweh will and can do in the lives of the youth once they are obedient to His will.
It is also a lesson for us today to nurture the young people or youth among us in order to fit them for service in the army of our heavenly Father. Many of our youth are under the hypnotic power of Satan. Let us seek them out while conserving those within.

2 Timothy 1: 1-2 Timothy 1: 1- 141 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, in keeping with the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,2 To Timothy, my dear son:Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.  

Paul alludes to the importance of early childhood indoctrination of christian principles in our children. Even if a single parent. with Yahweh's guidance nothing is impossible.
