Judges tell the story of a people who continually remain faithless while God remains faithful to them. In Gods kindness, he raised up Judges to draw the people back to himself during this lawless and brutal period in the history of Israel. The purpose of the book of Judges is not to point to good qualities of the "heroes" that God worked through and try to imitate them, but rather to recognize the peoples need for the true hero, Jesus.
